Responsibilities

  • Create features to improve our real estate machine learning algorithms
  • Develop infrastructure to produce powerful and user-friendly interfaces to the data
  • Build machine-learning algorithms specific to our real estate activity
  • Contribute to all phases of development including ideation, prototyping, design and production
  • Propose and build user segmentation models that give the company insight into our users
  • Create personalized recommendation models that affect all of our core product flows
  • Work directly with the founders to set the technology and architectural roadmap
  • Ensure product quality and timeliness of work, provide advice and guidance, and resolve problems to meet objectives
  • Help develop new and refine existing processes to enhance quality and productivity
  • Play an active role in hiring and mentoring other members of the team

Experience and Education Guidelines

  • At least 2 years of experience in a quantitative or technical field, including experience working with very large data sets
  • A graduate degree (MS or PhD) from a premier university in a Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Operations Research or related discipline
  • Expert in machine learning
  • Ability to go beyond using existing algorithms and packages
  • Expertise in Python and/or R, and knowledge of AWS, Spark, Hadoop or similar technologies
  • An understanding of databases and large-scale data processing frameworks
  • A resourceful and pragmatic approach (vs. dogmatic or academic)
